I recommend getting your first one some place with a lost of skin to back it up. A lot of women like getting them on their ankle or across the bottom of their back, but both those places are relatively painful places to get work done. I'd try the breast, or even something on the arm. Generally women don't think about getting things on their arms because it's seen as "masculine," but I've seen some women with some really beautiful tattoo work on their arms.

As for WHAT to get, that's one of those things that you really need to pick for yourself. Tattoos are really personal, and while it's cool get peoples opinion, you should have a basic idea in mind yourself.

Jen's is on the upper part of her right breast. Of course, she had the advantage of having a female (at the time) friend do the tattoo for her. I'd look into the arm, something a little lower than the shoulder, and fairly small. If you put some thought into it, you could make it something that, should you decide it's not a terribly painful and pointless thing to do, you can expand upon later. I recommend picking a subject matter that accentuates your interests, and your inherent feminity.

PROTIP: Know what you want, and where you want it, before you go into the shop. The people at the shop will no doubt respect you a little more for it, and respect is a good thing. Also, have yourself something sugary before going in to the shop. If your prone to fainting, or are really, really nervous, the sugar will help you keep you wits about you.
